Week 11- Persistence and Prayer

I will persist until I succeed

This week we are still on scroll 3 from Og mandino’s the greatest salesman in the world. This is a great book that I come back to every couple of years since I first read it back in 2003. It can be a great help in order to help you retrain your brain to achieve your goals. Scroll 3 is all about persistence being a key to success, try try and try again. This gets me thinking back to Master Yoda’s line “Do or Do not, there is no try.”  This line is often misunderstood by people mainly because the don’t understand the definition of try. The official definition of try is

1. make an attempt or effort to do something.

This basically means when you Try you put forth effort to intentionally fail. Where as when you decide to do something whether that is achieving a goal, learning a new skill or whatever that you will persist until you succeed. While persistence is one of the major keys to success with the Master Key this week we touch on prayer with this line.

35. For your exercise this week, concentrate on the quotation taken from the Bible, “Whatsoever things ye
desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them”; notice that there is no
limitation, “Whatsoever things” is very definite and implies that the only limitation which is placed upon us in
our ability to think, to be equal to the occasion, to rise to the emergency, to remember that Faith is not a
shadow, but a substance, “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

I figure many people may be confused by this because not many  in the western world were ever taught how to pray properly. One of the best explanations I have heard is from Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer, pages 166-168, Gregg Braden

“With regard to the power of prayer, a comparison of the modern biblical version of ‘Ask and you shall receive,’ for example, with its original text gives us an idea of just how much can be lost! The modern and condensed passage in the King James Version of the Bible reads: ‘Whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: Ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.’
“When we compare this to the original text, we see the key that is missing: ‘All things that you ask straightly, directly…from inside my name, you will be given. So far you have not done this. Ask without hidden motive and be surrounded by your answer. Be enveloped by what you desire, that your gladness be full.’

“In these words, we’re reminded of the quantum principle that tells us that prayer is consciousness. It’s a state of being that we’re in, rather than something that we do at a certain time of day. By inviting us to ‘be surrounded’ by our answer and ‘be enveloped’ by what we desire, this passage reminds us in words of precisely what the abbot and my friend, David, showed us in the shared wisdom of their traditions. We must first have the ‘feeling’ of our prayers answered in our hearts ‘before’ they become the reality of our lives.”

The videos below may give you some more insight into the topic of prayer.

Thus far we have talked about Persistence and Prayer. These are paramount topics and as this type of knowledge continue to spread and more people step on the path of self-mastery we are Building a new world or as it says in this weeks master key.

26. We are standing on the threshold of a new era. The time has arrived when man has learned the
secrets of mastery and the way is being prepared for a new social order, more wonderful than anything
every heretofore dreamed of. The conflict of modern science with theology, the study of comparative
religions, the tremendous power of new social movements, all of these are but clearing the way for the
new order. They may have destroyed traditional forms which have become antiquated and impotent, but
nothing of value has been lost.

27. A new faith has been born, a faith which demands a new form of expression, and this faith is
taking form in a deep consciousness of power which is being manifested, in the present spiritual
activity found on every hand.

My question to you is Will you develop the faith until you can get to the point of knowing and then help transform the world?

Blessings. May the force be with you always,
